Accessibility Statement
Who we are
galinir.com is operated by Gali Nir, an exempt dealer (Osek Patur) based in Tel Aviv, Israel. This statement was written under the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
Exemption, and what we did anyway
Gali Nir is an exempt dealer (Osek Patur), and the website is therefore exempt from the accessibility obligation under Regulation 35F(g) of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013. Despite the exemption, we made the website accessible as described in this statement.
Accessibility level
The website was made accessible in accordance with Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the WCAG 2.0 guidelines at level AA, and fully meets its requirements. We also work according to WCAG 2.1, and review and update the website's accessibility on an ongoing basis.
Below are a few points worth noting - mostly links to websites and services run by other companies - each with the way to get help.
What we have done
- Keyboard and focus: every link, button and form field can be reached with a keyboard, and the focused element is clearly marked.
- Skip to content: each page starts with a "Skip to content" link that jumps straight to the main content.
- Structure: headings follow a logical hierarchy, and page regions are defined (header, navigation, main content, footer).
- Language and direction: Hebrew pages are marked as Hebrew, right to left; English pages as English, left to right.
- Text alternatives: every image on the site, including gallery and portfolio images, has a text description.
- Contrast: text and button colors were chosen to meet the contrast ratio the standard requires.
- Forms: every field in the contact form has a visible, associated label. Error messages appear as text next to the field, are linked to it and are announced by screen readers.
- Icon buttons: every icon-only button (menu, back to top, accessibility) has a text name.
- Motion: when the operating system is set to reduce motion, the site's animations stop.
- Personal adjustments: a button in the corner of every page opens a menu with text size up to 200%, high contrast, link highlighting, stop animations, text spacing, a large cursor and a link to this statement. The menu also opens with Ctrl+U and closes with Escape. The menu is a convenience feature and does not replace the accessibility of the website itself.
Points worth noting
- External websites: the portfolio links to client websites, and the site links to Facebook, LinkedIn and 500px. Those websites are operated by their owners, and their accessibility is their responsibility. If you need information about a portfolio project, contact us and we will gladly describe it.
- Photographs: the gallery shows photographs, each with a text description. If you need a more detailed description of a specific photograph, contact us.
Compatibility
The website was designed to work in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox, on desktop and mobile, and with keyboards and assistive technologies.
Physical service
We do not have a physical location that receives the public. Photo sessions take place at a location the client chooses or outdoors, and all other services are provided remotely. When scheduling a session, we will gladly adapt the location and the way we work to each client's needs.
Exemptions
The website is exempt from the accessibility obligation as an exempt dealer, as described above. No other exemptions or relief have been granted.
